Ali Mountain Underground City

Architectural Building; The main purpose of re-remembering this structure; both the elimination of existing errors on the old map and the addition of parts that are not included in this map and that are not opened for tourism. This structure, whose total gallery and building length was determined to be 528 m at the end of our measurements, does not have the identity of an "Underground City" when compared to all other known and mapped underground cities. Even if we accept that the stone door at the mouth of today's exit gallery was used to close the gallery and to defend the part that continues to the rear of this gallery, only a large hall and a 60-meter-long cistern with a 180-meter-long tunnel can be reached after the hall. exists. The southwest-facing branch of the circular tunnel in the middle of the long tunnel reaching the cistern was abandoned without much digging. Again, the three small rooms to the north of today's exit were originally built as a warehouse, a kitchen and a church, but it is certain that in the following centuries they were turned into dovecotes with windows opening to the outside. In the underground city, there is no structure like a room that can be used as a dwelling in case of defense. On the other hand, there are no clogged galleries in the parts that continue to the east of the entrance and are closed to tourism. In this part, all the tunnels seem to have been abandoned at some point without further digging, possibly due to the disappearance of the threat. The same situation has been observed in the underground cities in the Ötedere Valley.
