Apollon Temple

One of the two temples built during the period known as the Roman Peace is the Side Apollon Temple. The name of this temple; It was named after Apollo, one of the chief gods of the city of Side, which is engraved in our memories as the god of light, beauty and art. There are columns with Corinthian caps on the temple. A part of the Temple of Apollo, located in the middle of the Byzantine basilica, was dismantled to be used in the construction of the basilica. Some of the large columns of this temple, which was built in Roman order and in accordance with the peripteros plan, were restored and put in place. With its history dating back to 150 AD, the Temple of Apollo is truly a heritage worth seeing with its historical ruins.
