Arab Baba Masjid and Tomb

Arap Baba Masjid and the tomb on the lower floor belong to the Seljuk period. Masjid and tomb were built on the rocks. The minaret of the mosque, which is domed on top, was partially destroyed. The corpse in the tomb is on the lower floor of the tomb, as in the Seljuk tombs. The person in this tomb is popularly known as 'Arab Baba'. Although there is no definite information about Arap Baba, the tomb was built in 1279 during the reign of Seljuk Ruler Keyhüsrev. In its inscription, Şaban's grandson and Arap Shah's son Yusuf is mentioned as its patron. The corpse found in the tomb is kept in a glass covered with green fabric. The tomb is visited with interest by local and foreign tourists. There are various narrations about the Arab Baba.
