Arak Church (Holy Apostles Monastery)
Arak Monastery, which was built in the Roman style, is one of the historical places that should definitely be seen during a trip to Mus. The monastery, for which there is no clear information about its history, takes its name from the Arak (Kepenek) village where it is located. The reason why the name Arak, which means "wine" in Persian, was given to the village is because there were vineyards in the village in the past and it was a place where grape juice was extracted. The place of worship, where the church is located, is also called the "Holy Apostles Monastery". The foundation of the monastery dates back to the 4th century and was founded by St. Gregory. Legend has it that the Sassanids, who dominated the region, had the church built by Roman masters and presented it to the Romans as a sign of goodwill. There is also a bell tower 200-250 meters from the church.
