Arpaz Castle
The building group, located in Esenköy, Nazilli, was established on the outskirts of Harpasa Castle, a Carian city. In some sources, the name of this place is also mentioned as Arpaz Tower. It was built at the beginning of the 19th century by the Arpaz Beys, the owners of the large farm enterprise that included the cultivated land extending to Akçay. However, here in the XVII. And ruins from the Ottoman Period dating back to the 18th century were also encountered. Based on this, it can be assumed that the castle was built in an earlier period and was renovated later. This place resembles a castle with its gentleman's mansion, security tower, warehouse, stables and outbuildings. The tower was built by Arpazlı Hacı Hasan Bey, by the masters he brought from Rhodes during the reign of Mahmud II.
