Ayia Panayia Elpida Greek Orthodox Church
Ayia Panayia Elpida Greek Orthodox Church is a Greek Orthodox church located in the Kumkapı district of the Fatih district of Istanbul, Turkey. The church, whose first construction date is unknown, was rebuilt in 1652 after a fire, and since this building was also destroyed, the church was rebuilt in 1895 by the architect Vasilios Tsilenis. Built on the east-west axis, the building has two bell towers in the north and south. Due to the Greek Genocide and the population exchange problem, the church's congregation shrank and the number of Christian visitors decreased.
