Ayşe Hafsa Sultan Mosque and Complex
Ayşe Hafsa Sultan Mosque This complex, which is a magnificent example of the culture and social life of Classical Ottoman Complex Architecture and spread over a very wide area, consisting of a mosque, soup kitchen, madrasah, hammam, hankah and primary school, was built in 1522 by Ayşe Hafsa Sultan, the mother of Suleiman the Magnificent. The mosque and some of its buildings were completed in 1522, the hamam in 1538, and the hospital in 1539.
