Bartın Fatih Mosque
It was built as a Byzantine church within the Amasra Castle in the 9th century. It was converted into a mosque during the conquest of Amasra in 1460 by Fatih Sultan Mehmet. The building, which reflects all the architectural characteristics of its period, was repaired in 1887. The tradition of "reading the Friday sermon by drawing a sword", which is not found in other mosques, is kept alive in Fatih Mosque today.
