Besni Castle
Old Besni was once a place that was very crowded and received a commendation from Yıldırım Beyazıt for his bravery. Today the location has been moved. In 1933-1934, it was decided to relocate the Besni district due to the fact that the location of Old Besni was not suitable for expansion and there were no streets and streets suitable for motor vehicles.
On the hill seen in the back is Besni Castle, which is thought to be from the Hittite period. Yavuz Sultan Selim annexed the castle to the Ottoman Empire in 1516, repaired it, and built a mosque and a bath that no longer exist in the castle. The castle, whose bastions were made by a master named 'Bald Shave', has survived to the present day in a dilapidated condition. In the foreground is the 17th century Toktamış Mosque, which has survived only its minaret made of cut stone.
