Boğaz Bridge

It is on the Red River. In the southeast direction of the bridge, which has six eyes with pointed arches and measures 2.50 x 3 m, there is a refuge waiting room with a rectangular plan covered with pointed vaults and two crenellated windows opening to the west. There is an inscription that has come to a standstill unreadable on the entrance to the room. The date 932 can be read in the inscription. The bridge length is 102 m, width is 4.45 m, and the largest side opening in the middle is 8.95 m. It was built entirely of cut stone. In the upstream direction, the triangular floods on the bridge piers were raised up to the level of the arch stirrup and the bridge piers were strengthened. The heels of the arch legs in the downstream direction are round. With the encouragement of Sivas Governor Halil Rıfat Pasha, with the help of Silahtar-zade Mehmed Efendi, one of the notables of Sivas, in the XIX. It was repaired at the end of the century. A feature of the bridge is the rooms inside the bridge piers. Two of the rooms are inside the foot at the south end, and the third room is inside the second foot at the south end. Rooms have a stove. It measures 25 x 3 m. It is estimated that these rooms may have served as a resting-shelter place for passengers.
