Bozcaada Windmill

Historical Island / Turkiye, Marmara, Çanakkale, Bozcaada

Bozcaada Windmill

The windmills, which were restored by the Bozcaada District Governorate in 2019, have been added to the island silhouette after years. In the past, the hills on both sides of the island center were filled with windmills. The remaining three of them were completely overhauled and put back on their feet.

The smooth stone-paved road that runs right next to the large parking lot at the back of the Greek quarter will take you to the windmills. It doesn't take more than 5 minutes to walk the stone path, which is decorated with lavender and has sitting corners where you can watch the view. Watching the castle, the sea and the island center from above while walking, advancing only with the sound of the wind, then standing by leaning on that beautiful stone structure... This is one of the most enjoyable moments for the island.
