Bursa Zoology Museum
In the Zoology Museum, which was established within Uludağ University (UÜ) Faculty of Arts and Sciences Department of Biology, where preserved specimens of some extinct species are included, visitors are introduced to the animal kingdom.
The museum holds 28 years of work, it has 19 scorpions, 25 frogs, 28 fish, 83 birds, 33 mammals and 81 reptiles, as well as many insect species. The main function of the museum, which is open to the public at certain days and hours, is research and education. Explaining that they add mountain goats, llamas and capybaras to the inventory of the museum, where new animal specimens come every month, the museum director, UU Faculty of Arts and Sciences Biology Department Lecturer Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Uğurtaş stated that they ensured that the citizens had accurate information about animals in the museum. Uğurtaş said, “There is a common misconception that crows have a lifespan of nearly 200 years. However, the longest crow life on record is 40 years.
