Captain Şekip Efendi Cemetery
On August 29, 1922, Captain Şekip Efendi, the Commander of the 3rd Regiment and 2nd Company of the 14th Cavalry Division, boldly attacked the 20 reconnaissance enemy groups in the perimeter defense and captured about 2000 enemy soldiers. When he attacked to seize the enemy artillery in the depths, he was martyred in this region with some of his soldiers. On one side of the martyrdom; It was built in memory of the martyrs of the Turkish Cavalry Corps attacking the Greeks in the Battle of 29 August 1922. On the other side of the martyrdom are the names of the martyrs: Captain Harputlu Şekip Efendi, soldiers Veysel Ömer from the Skopje Subdistrict of Düzce, Veli Mehmet from the Yagliken Village of Keskin, and Ibiş Ömer from the Tatasut Village of Akhisar.
