Carved Underground Cities
Since it is located in an area covering the villages of Akören and Oymalı, this place is also known by the names of both villages. The history of the city dates back to the 7th century AD. The cities belong to the Roman and Byzantine periods.
It is stated that there are 36 underground cities in the region and it is known that the people built these cities in order to protect themselves from the raids and disasters such as floods in the region in the past. Many remains of underground cities can be seen in the region.
