Çay Mosque
The building, which is called Çay Mosque because it is located on the edge of Sille Stream, is located in the center of Sille, on Government Street. The mosque in the southern part of the stream is passed by two separate bridges, one made of Sille stone and the other made of wood from the recent period. According to the building materials and architectural style, it is estimated that the mosque was built in the 19th century. The mosque, which is located on a sloping land, was built as two floors by taking advantage of this slope. The mosque built of Sille stone; consists of the harim, the last congregation area and the old school.
There are parts of the old altar in some parts of the wooden altar, which was largely renovated during the restorations. The preaching chair in the southeast corner of the mosque is also made of wood and has ornaments in the openwork technique. The mosque, which was restored by the Selçuklu Municipality in 2013, was thoroughly overhauled. During the restoration, the pulpit, altar and sermon pulpit were cleaned of the paints applied before and restored to their original state. The mosque is open for worship today.
