Church of Antiphonitis
Antiphonitis Church is located in a valley 8 km from Esentepe town on the east side of Kyrenia. The church, which was built towards the end of the 12th century, has an unusual architecture. It is even thought that it was built by local craftsmen and local artists during its construction. The dome of the church, which has eight columns, was built on these columns. A barrel-vaulted narthex and portico were added to the church in the 14th and 15th centuries during the Lusignan period.
