Colonel Reşat Çiğiltepe Cemetery

Commander of the 57th Division, Miralay Reşat Bey, was assigned to seize Çiğiltepe, where the martyrdom is located, on 27 August 1922. This important commander could not fulfill his promise to Mustafa Kemal to seize the region in half an hour and committed suicide. After a short time passed after the colonel committed suicide, Çiğiltepe was captured by the soldiers. This martyrdom, which was created to keep alive the memory of the soldiers who fought hard to capture Çiğiltepe, especially Colonel Reşat Pasha, was opened on 22.06.1996. A bronze bust of Colonel Reşat Pasha welcomes the visitors in the martyrdom. Apart from this, a statue similar to a sword and monumental martyr tombs made of marble can be seen.
