Colonnaded Kiosk
Serving as the headquarters of Balıkesir Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association; At the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century, the Colonnaded Kiosk, which forms the core texture of our city; It reflects a typical Balikesir house located in Dumlupınar Neighborhood, and is immediately distinguished from other houses with its location and size.
The mansion, which was not used and neglected for many years, was registered by the Cultural Heritage Preservation Board on September 27, 1990 and taken under protection. Its ownership was acquired by Balıkesir Provincial Environmental Protection Foundation on 28 December 2001.
The mansion, which is destroyed day by day and destroyed by treasure hunters, was restored by the Environmental Protection Foundation in 2005 and rented for 25 years.
Necessary projects were prepared in cooperation with Balıkesir University and approved by Çanakkale Conservation Board. In November 2005, the necessary repair permits were obtained from Balıkesir Municipality and restoration works were started from the roof.
In accordance with the project, the foundation and walls of the building have been strengthened in accordance with the original, interior and exterior plasters have been made, exterior wood cladding and upper floor ceiling and floor coverings have been finished.
BASIAD has covered all the expenditures made so far in these works, which have high restoration costs.
The Colonnaded Kiosk, which was used as a headquarters during the War of Independence; It has a special importance as it hosted our Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
