Dedeköy Mosque

From the plan and material features of Dedeköy Mosque, XV. or XVI. It is understood that it may have been made in the century. The mosque measures 14 x 14 meters and has a square plan. The transition from the square body to the dome is provided by squinches. Brick in elements such as domes, arches, squinches; spolia stones were used on the walls. The windows of the mosque are in two rows. The ones in the lower row are rectangular, with three on the sides and two at the entrance. In the upper row, each wall has a pointed arched window. But the window that coincides with the door is considered as a closet. There are eight windows in the dome drum. Its mihrab is in the form of a five-sided niche and has five rows of muqarnas hoods. The mihrab is decorated with a row of flutes. Its top is crowned with a row of palmettes. Only the trace of the pulpit, which was thought to be wooden, remained.

The mosque does not have many features in terms of decoration. Only the squinches and some parts of the dome show traces of palmette strings. On the window pediments with pointed arches, there is no trace of ornamentation as it is now. The minaret is located in the northeast corner of the mosque. The pedestal height of the minaret is at the same level as the wall height of the mosque. The transition from the square base to the cylindrical brick body is provided with a pyramidal shoe. The entrance of the minaret is inside the mosque, in the northeast corner. His cone has been destroyed.
