Devrent Valley
Devrent Dream Valley (also known as Devrent Valley or Dream Valley) is one of the most interesting valleys of Cappadocia and Avanos. It is particularly famous for its shaped fairy chimneys and, unlike the other valleys of Cappadocia, there are no settlements here. The name of the valley comes from the natural rock formations that trigger the imagination, referring to the meaning of the word “Devrent”. The camel-shaped rock in this valley, where fairy chimneys create interesting images, has become the symbol of this place. It is part of the Göreme National Park, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. For this reason, great importance is attached to the preservation of the natural structure in the valley.
Historically, the valley attracts attention with its natural formations rather than early settlements. Although the region is not intertwined with the historical heritage of Cappadocia, it is considered a popular natural wonder among locals and visitors. The fact that Avanos is known for its traditional handicrafts and ceramics has increased interest in the valley.
