Edirne Deveci Han Cultural Center
It is located in front of the Edirne Governorship Building, opposite the Üç Şerefeli Mosque. Since it does not have an inscription, its construction date is not known exactly. Due to its building style, it bears the characteristics of the first half of the 15th century. Deveci Han has two floors and a total of 31 rooms and a conference hall. Its walls are made of cut stone and brick joints are made between them. Deveci Han, which remained in ruins for a long time, was repaired by Governor Rüstem Pasha and turned into a prison in 1846. In the following years, it was repaired once again by Governor Hacı İzzet Pasha in 1891-1892, and an infirmary and four more rooms were added. There is an inscription written by Mustafa Razi on the southern façade of the inn, indicating this repair. Deveci Han was used as a prison until 1946. The building was then restored by the Ministry of Culture. Today, Deveci Han is used as the Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate.
