Eğirdir Hızırbey Mosque
The construction date of Hızır Bey Mosque, also known as the Great Mosque, is unknown. However, it is thought that the walls were built by Hızırbey as masonry and earthen roofs. On the roof of the mosque, where 3000 people can pray at the same time, a part of the roof was left open to clear the snow accumulated in winter and a snow well was built inside the mosque. The mosque, which burned down in the fire that broke out in Eğirdir in 1814, was rebuilt in accordance with its old style by Yılanlıoğlu Şen Ali Ağa, the trustee and guard of Eğirdir, with the help of the people.
