Elti Hatun Mosque and Tomb

Built in 1252, the mosque and cupola-style tomb in the İslam Quarter of Mazgirt were erected by Uzun Hasan, sovereign of Akkoyunlus, for his sister, Elti Hatun.

The mosque, located in the Islamic quarter in Mazgirt district center, has two inscriptions. It is understood from the inscription on the portal of the glass that it cannot be read today, that the building was built between 1252-1257 in the name of Elti Hatun, the daughter of Ahmed Shah, the granddaughter of Divriği Bey Suleyman Shah, a descendant of Mengücek.
