Emirler Mosque

Excavations were carried out between 01.06.2009 and 13.07.2007 under the supervision of the Museum Directorate. The mosque in question was built on the slope of the valley where two steep-sided hills are lined up. Only the south wall and minaret of the mosque have survived to the present day. It is not known when the building was built. The mosque, which was unearthed as a result of our research excavation in Emirler Mosque, has two different periods. The mosque space of the first period is smaller than the later period. The mosque has a rectangular plan close to a square. It was built with rubble stone, wooden beam and mud mortar. Minaret; Rubble stone has a square base and the shoe part is made of stone and brick material. Its hexagonal body is made of brick with a bracelet at the top and bottom. Single balcony, cone part is not available. The minaret, whose southeastern wall is chamfered, was built on the eastern wall of the mosque and is 1.5 m away from the south wall.
