Fatih Sultan Mehmet and Şahi Topu Statue
One of the most photographed monumental structures in Edirne is the Fatih Sultan Mehmet and Shahi Cannon Statue, located on Mimar Sinan Street, just across the Selimiye Mosque. You can see up close the examples of the huge cannons used by the sultan when he conquered Istanbul in the flowery garden next to the statue, where Mehmet the Conqueror is depicted on a horse with a sword in his hand. Along with the magnificent Selimiye Mosque, the statue, where you can take wonderful photos, attracts a lot of attention from local and foreign tourists.
