Gerede Keçi Castle

5 km from Gerede. It is on the Arkut Mountain in the north, on a hill dominating its surroundings. Remaining from the Bithynians period, the castle was restored in 1993. According to the rumor about the castle, when the city was attacked, the people took shelter in the castle with their goods and animals and defended themselves. Again in such a situation, the enemy who settled around the castle attacked the castle during the day but was unsuccessful. The attacks continued for days and there was a shortage of food in the fort. One night, those present lit candles on the horns of all the goats in the castle and let them out of the castle. The enemy, who thought that a large army was coming against them, fled from there and dispersed and got rid of the enemy thanks to Geredelis goats. This is where the name of the castle comes from.
