Gökmedrese Mosque
It is in the form of a closed complex consisting of a mosque, a madrasa and a tomb. It was built in 1267 by the Governor of Amasya, Seyfeddin Torumtay. It is accepted that it was named Gök Madrasa because of the blue glazed bricks in the octagonal shaped tomb drum. The thick walls of the rectangular planned structure, which is used both as a mosque and as a madrasa, are made of cut stone. The mosque has a large barrel-vaulted entrance with an iwan. The windows on both sides of the main door decorated with geometric motifs are among the most beautiful examples of Seljuk stonework. The windows, which narrow upwards with rich muqarnas, are surrounded by rectangular borders.
