Goloşa Hans

The Goloşa Caravanserais and bridge in Taşgeçit Village, located in the Araklı Karadere Valley, are of great importance in shedding light on the history of the region.

These caravanserais and the historic bridge have survived from the past to the present day. Today, they are of great importance in terms of Araklı's cultural heritage.

The Goloşa Caravanserais operated as one of the centers where trade flourished and lodging needs were met during the Ottoman period and the early years of the Republic. With its history dating back to the 18th century, it contributed to the development of trade during that period.

The Goloşa Inns were built like an Ottoman inn. The structures, skillfully constructed using stone and wood, were designed to meet the trade volume and accommodation needs of the period. The stables located in the large courtyards of the inns were used to house the animals of the guests.

At the time, Goloşa Han had shops that met the needs of a town. People not only from Taşgeçit Village but also from other villages brought their produce here to sell. The fact that the highway in the Karadere Valley passed in front of the han, the fact that summer residents no longer needed accommodation on this road, and the opening of grocery stores in the villages caused this place to lose its importance.

The stone structures and bridge of Golaşa Han are poised to become key attractions for Araklı tourism in the future.
