Göreme Roman Castle
This tomb and castle in our Göreme district belong to the Roman period. When you go to Goreme lands, you will witness it too. Every place we step in here smells of history and there is a trace of history. The castle is very important to them because of the warrior characteristics of the Romans. Graves were built for the soldiers who died in these wars. Especially for the high-ranking people, the grave would be a little more ostentatious and buried with their treasures. Also, rumor has it that the Roman soldiers in the castle here controlled the silk road crossing here. Excavations around the castle and tomb reveal bones and artifacts dating back thousands of years.
