Güzelyurt Gelveri Houses

Until 1924, the Greek and Turkish population lived together peacefully in Güzelyurt. With the population exchange that took place after the War of Independence, Greeks from Güzelyurt immigrated and were settled in Nea Kalvari, a town of Kavala in Greece. Turks from Greece settled in the houses of Greeks who migrated from Güzelyurt. The Turks, who settled in the Gelveri houses, took care of the buildings and made them come to these days. These houses of ancient value are restored one by one and brought to Cappadocia tourism.
