Haspet Castle

It is on a slope on the eastern extension of Kızıl Visit Mountain, south of Muş. Its walls and two towers are partially standing. Other parts were destroyed in natural disasters. Although its exact date is not known, it shows itself as a police station dominating the plain, which was built with Khorasan mortar in terms of the materials and art structure used in the building. There are also 2 watchtowers in the village of Soğucak, which is located on the outskirts, which were largely destroyed. According to a legend, Alexander the Great

On his way to conquer Egypt, he asked his subordinate Commander Beatlis (Bitlis) to build a stronghold that he could not take back when he returned. Commander Beatlis, who received the order, built the Bitlis Castle until Alexander the Great's return from Egypt and repulsed Alexander the Great to the Muş Plain in line with his order. Alexander the Great attacked Bitlis many times, but each time he had to return to the Plain of Muş. As a result of an attack that resulted in a defeat, Alexander the Great, while staying in the Muş Plain for the night, sees the presence of a group of horsemen that disturb the army and admires these warriors. He sends an envoy to Haspet Castle, where the warriors reside, and requests a meeting. The people in the castle accepted this request and went to Alexander the Great. According to rumors, Alexander the Great said, referring to these people he admired, "Who are you to disturb the army of a commander who has conquered the world." He gets the answer, "We are the Gur Lords, you have disturbed us by entering our lands". Meanwhile, Commander Beatlis sends news to Alexander the Great, informing him that he will surrender the castle. Beatlis, who came into the presence of Alexander the Great, asked the ruler, "-Why didn't you surrender this castle from the beginning and caused many soldiers from my army to be broken?" To the question, “- My lord, you ordered me to build such a castle here that even if the strongest ruler in the world came with his army, he could not take this place. I built a strong and solid castle here. Even though you are the most powerful ruler in the world and your army has the strongest army in the world, you could not capture this place. Now, believing that I have fulfilled my duty, I hand over the keys of the castle to you.” says. Alexander the Great was very pleased with this reply of his commander and forgives him. After a while, he orders his army to withdraw from the Muş Plain.
