Hatuniye Mosque and Complex
The complex, which was built in 1490 by the wife of Bayezid II, Hüsn-i Şah Sultan, consists of a mosque, madrasah, soup kitchen and primary school.
Hatuniye Mosque is a simple mosque with a rectangular plan and a single minaret. The main space is covered with a large dome resting on an octagonal drum and a small dome on both sides. The narthex is covered with five small domes resting on six columns. Its minaret is decorated with zigzag cuts. Its pulpit, which was made with the false kundekari technique, is one of the beautiful examples of Turkish decorative arts.
