Hayme Ana Tomb

Hayme Ana is the grandmother of Osman Gazi, the founder of the Ottoman Empire, and the mother of Ertuğrul Gazi. She is a Turkmen (Yörük) daughter of the Kayı Tribe of the Bozok Branch of the Oghuzs.

Kayı tribe first settled in the Karacadağ region to the west of Ankara. Haymana district in the west of Ankara got its name from Hayme Ana. It was also called the "Mother of State" because of the fact that the Ottoman tribe settled in Söğüt and Domaniç, it took over the state administration for a certain period and played a vital role in the establishment of the state. She was buried in Çarşamba Village of Domaniç district upon her death.
