Hemşin Village Mosque

Hemşin Village Mosque, located in Akçakoca district, is one of the best examples of bell-type (structure type built without nailing) mosques. The mosque was founded in 1877 by Hemşinlis from Artvin after the Ottoman-Russian War. The mosque, which was built using stonework on the first floor and using the bell technique on the second floor, has a history of nearly 150 years. The altar and pulpit of Hemşin Mosque, whose minaret is also wooden, draws attention with its ceiling work.
