Historic Town Hall
The Municipality of Havran, which moved to the new municipal palace at the end of 2020, restored one of the most important structures of Havran by restoring the historical municipal mansion, which has become the symbol of the district with its centuries-old history.
There is no definite information about the construction date of the historical Havran Municipality Mansion, which is a cultural property built with the characteristics of the I. National Architecture movement, which is rare in the province. TR Ministry of Interior General Directorate of Local Administrations, in the book “Municipalities” dated 1933, includes a photograph in 1930 and it is stated that it was made in 1927.
Ottoman II. The National Architecture Movement, which emerged in the political climate that transformed after the First Constitutional Monarchy and continued in the first years of the Republic, or the “National Architectural Renaissance” with the dome taken from classical architecture with the experiences of those living in that period. Ottoman architecture is an architectural form that combines consumption and new building materials such as reinforced concrete, iron and steel with architectural elements such as large roof consoles, arches, porticoes, portals and ornamental motifs. With all these features, the Havran Municipality Mansion is one of the rare examples of this movement.
