Historical Balatlar Church

B.C. Built in 666 and considered one of Sinop's important historical treasures, Balatlar Church attracts archeology and history enthusiasts from all over the world. The Balatlar Church, which was built during the Roman period and actively used in the Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman periods, was converted into a church in the 5th century Byzantine period and used as a monastery by the Greeks during the Ottoman period. The Balatlar Church, which has served uninterruptedly for 2000 years since its construction, still continues to attract attention with very few parts that remain intact today.
