Historical Irmak Turkish Bath

Today it is known as the Irmak Bath. However, it was also known as the Yalı Hamam in the previous periods. It is located around the Government House, opposite the Girls' High School. It is thought that the reason why the bath is called Irmak Bath is due to its proximity to the Seyhan River. The second name must also have something to do with the riverbank, the coast. at the beginning of the 17th century; that is, at the end of the Ramazanoğulları Principality, it was built on the foundations and some walls of a late Roman bath. The brick and masonry system in which different foundation stones are used in the furnace section shows this. It is understood from the title deed documents dated H.1117 (1705 -1706) that this bath was a Piri Pasha foundation and was rented for 400 kuruş annually.
