Historical Konursu Grand Mosque
The mosque, located in Konursu village, 15 kilometers away from the city, and built using interior craftsmanship, has a swallow ceiling that also hosts the piece features of wood craftsmanship. The handcrafted workmanship of the mosque's walnut wood mahfil, pulpit and preaching platform reaches back to the thousands of years of decay tradition that the Turks carried from Central Asia to Anatolia. The ceiling of the mosque, which was built on four wooden supports on a sloping land in the village in 1812, was also made of wood. All the wooden materials in the square-shaped mosque were put together with great skill without the use of nails or glue.
