Historical Konya Houses
The historical Konya houses, most of which were destroyed and heavily damaged, attracting attention with their original architecture in the city center, were renovated with restoration and street rehabilitation.
With the work carried out on an area of 100 thousand square meters in Akçeşme and Kerimdede neighborhoods near the Mevlana Museum, the historical Konya houses, which were on the verge of disappearing and most of them were destroyed, were restored.
In Mahmutdede Street, which separates the two neighborhoods, dozens of houses were restored to their original form during the restoration and street improvement carried out by the Karatay Municipality.
Those who come to the street, where the original architecture from the porch to the doorknob is tried to be kept alive in the two-storey, open courtyard type houses, almost embarks on a journey through history.
