Historical Odunpazarı Houses
Odunpazarı Houses are historical houses from the Ottoman Period in the Odunpazarı district, which is the first settlement of Eskişehir. They carry the architectural features and motifs of places such as Safranbolu, Beypazarı, Göynük. It is on the UNESCO world heritage list. Eskişehir's Odunpazarı district was built on the hills in the southern part of the city. It extends to the region called almond grove. According to a rumor, the first people who thought of settling in Eskişehir hung a sheep liver in the region where Odunpazarı and the current Porsuk Stream are located. Whichever lasts longer, they will choose it as a residential area. The liver hanged in Odunpazarı deteriorates later and the first settlement occurs here.
