Historical Palu Stone Bridge
The inscription of the old Palu Bridge, which is located on the Murat River, does not exist, and according to the rumor it was built in the Roman Period. However, although it is similar to the bridges built in the Seljuk type in terms of its foundation and arch shapes, it is also said that it was built during the Artukid Period. However, it is more realistic that the bridge was built during the Roman Period and repaired during the Byzantine and Artuqid Periods. It was the only transportation and transit place that provided a south-north connection at the time. It is mentioned as a bridge connecting Istanbul to Baghdad in historical sources. This bridge has a great importance in the development of Palu and the formation of a commercial center.
