Hızır Bey Mosque

According to written sources, it is thought that the mosque was built on the site of the "Eksotha Masjid", which was built between 1553 and 1562. The building was built in 1798/1799 according to the inscription on the south façade. As it can be understood from other inscriptions, it was repaired in 1837/1838, 1859/1860 and 1903/1904. Stone was used as the material in the building, which was built with the masonry construction system. The building has a rectangular plan in the north-south direction. The building consists of the sanctuary, the last congregation place and the women's gathering place. The outer cover of the building is the side walls and a dome that sits on two legs in the interior. The dome sits on a circular high drum surrounded by deaf arches from the outside. Its minaret is located in the northwest corner. The minaret is made of cut stone and has a single balcony. The main entrance of the mosque is on the west side, and there is another entrance on the east side. The original entrance opening has a cut stone jamb and a low arch. The keystone of the flat arch protrudes outward. The entrance door is double-winged and wooden. The mihrab has stepped niches and there are grooved, protruding and plant-adorned capitalized columns on both sides. Right next to the pillars, there is a strip with a title again. There are herbal ornaments on the sides and niches of the mihrab. The interior walls of the mosque are plastered, and there are hand-drawn ornaments on the dome skirts and inside, on the pendentives and on the walls. There is a double row of windows on the east and west facades of the building, and a single row of windows on the south facade. All windows have low arches and cut stone sills, and the windows are wooden and double-winged.
