Hudavent Hatun Tomb

Hüdavent Hatun Tomb; According to the construction inscription on the crown gate, it was built in 712H./ 1312-13 M. It was built by Hüdavend Hatun, the daughter of the Anatolian Seljuk ruler Rukneddin Kılıç Aslan IV. The tomb, which has seen some repairs to the present day, preserves its original feature. The building belongs to the group of tombs with a single storey and octagonal plan. In the construction of the building, yellowish-colored trachyte stone was used; white marble was used for the jambs, arches and lintels of the doors and windows, as well as for the sashes and inscriptions on the pulley. The decorations on the pediments with pointed arches on the pulley, the figurative decorations on the windows and the window networks are made of red stone, which is finer textured and harder; black cut stone is used in the deaf pointed arches in the dome pulley of the interior space and a very rich material is used. The tomb rises as an octagonal body on an eight-sided pedestal and turns into a dome from the inside and is covered with an eight-sided pyramidal cone from the outside. The tomb is special in terms of its structure as well as its floral, geometric and especially figured plastic decorations.
