İnönü Martyrdom
İnönü Martyrdom is located on a hill between Bilecik Bozüyük District and Akpınar Village. It is the front of the War of Independence, which developed in the direction of Metristepe-Inönü and was known as the İnönü Wars in our history. It consists of 844 graves and was built by the Ministry of National Defense in 1930. The festivities, which were held in June until 1981, started to be held on April 1, the date the Battle of İnönü was won, from this year. Turkish flags are depicted at the feet of the tombs, which are surrounded by rectangular walls. Although there are records of 4 200 martyrs here, there are only 141 graves because their names are not known. There is a small marble monument in the middle of the cemetery. İsmet İnönü Monument in the district center, I. and II. It is the symbol of the İnönü Wars. On a wide and high platform, there is a large crescent-star statue of İsmet İnönü in a soldier's outfit next to it. On the front of the monument, there is a wide and low frieze with relief reliefs symbolizing the war. The headquarters building in the district center has been restored. In addition, İsmet İnönü used a simple adobe village house in Çukurhisar Village as a second headquarters.
