Isbank Museum of Turkey
In order to transfer the history of the bank, which reflects the establishment and development story of our country, to future generations, Türkiye İş Bankası started its institutional history studies in the late 1990s and opened the Türkiye İş Bankası Museum on 14 November 2007.
During the preparation process of the museum, documents, photographs, films and objects accumulated in all four corners of Turkey since 1924 were collected, restored and taken under protection. The historical Yenicami Branch of İşbank was chosen to host this rich material.
The building, which was built as the Istanbul Post Office on September 23, 1892, started to serve as the Istanbul Branch of Türkiye İş Bankası on February 20, 1928. In the 1950s, the name of the branch was changed to Yenicami Branch and it served in this way until 2004. After the restoration process, the building started to contribute to the cultural life of Istanbul as a museum.
