Islamic Science and Technology History Museum
It is located in the Has Stables Building, adjacent to the Palace Wall in Gülhane Park in Istanbul. In the Ottoman period, the stables where the horses of the sultan and his close servants were kept were called Has Ahır (Istabl-ı amire). . The museum, which was prepared by the Islamic science historian Prof. Dr Fuat Sezgin and opened in 2008, stands out as the first in its field in Turkey and the second in the world after Frankfurt, with an exhibition area of 3,500 square meters and a total collection of 585 tools, device replicas, models and models. Known for his work over fifty years, its founder Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin, with his researches in original sources, is of the opinion that the developments in the history of science and civilization are not disconnected, on the contrary, they form a whole. While scientific works have a special impressive power with their aesthetic and instructiveness, the impression they leave and the knowledge they provide, the process of the Islamic world in the history of sciences in the past has also been revealed with its documents. In addition, it is a bridge that unites the East-West Science culture.
