İsmail Fakirullah Tomb
İsmail Fakirullah Tomb is a building located in the Tillo district of Siirt. After the death of İsmail Fakirullah, it was built by Erzurumlu İbrahim Hakkı, who was his student, in the 18th century. With a mechanism in the tomb, the morning sun is reflected on the sarcophagus for five minutes on 21 March and 23 September every year. During the restoration in 1960, the light assembly lost its function. With the studies carried out in 2011, the mechanism was put into operation again. A model of the tomb is exhibited at Miniatürk in Istanbul. UNESCO added the shrine to the World Heritage Tentative List in 2015. After the death of İbrahim Hakkı, a student of İsmail Fakirullah, who lived in the seventeenth century, and his burial in Aydınlar, a burial ground was built around the tomb. During the 2005 survey, the tombstones that have survived to the present day in this tomb and burial ground were studied and analyzed in terms of art history.
