İsmailbey Mosque

The kulliye, located in the Ismail Bey Neighborhood in the city center, was built in BC. It is located on Şahinşah Rock, which has two rock tombs from the 7th century. Built by İsmail Bey, the last ruler of the Candaroğulları Principality, there is a collection of buildings that exhibit the best examples of the art of the period of principalities, consisting of a mosque, tomb, madrasah, inn, bath and library. The camel inn and the madrasah inside the complex, which was a trade and science base of its time, was reorganized by the Kastamonu Governorate and used as a center of local cuisine and handicrafts for tourism purposes.
