Kaman Kalehöyük Archeology Museum

One of the evidences showing that Kırşehir was used as a settlement in every period of history is the mounds. There are over 100 mounds identified and registered in Kırşehir.

Kalehöyük is located in Kaman district of Kırşehir. Kaman Kalehöyük Archaeological Excavation Work was started in 1986. Studies carried out in Kalehöyük, a typical Anatolian mound, shed light on the earliest settlement date of Kırşehir, which is dated to the Early Bronze Age.

Kaman Kalehöyük Archeology Museum is located right next to the excavation site. Inspired by Kalehöyük's own form, the museum was built in the shape of a mound and is designed to allow visitors to see the excavation methods and the artifacts unearthed at the same time.

Next to the Kaman Kalehöyük Archeology Museum, there is the Japanese Anatolian Archeology Institute, which was established to conduct archaeological excavations and examine the information and artifacts obtained from the excavations and researches.
