Karabıyık Bridge

Karabıyık Bridge

The Karabıyık Bridge was built on the Yozgat Boğazlayan road, approximately 500 meters north of the Karabıyık crossroads and 200 - 250 meters away from the road, on the kanak water, by Yavuz Sultan Selim on his way to Egypt in 1516. It is a two-eyed bridge with pointed arches and stone railing, which is piled up as a smooth cut stone coating on rubble stone. The transition to the stone balustrades was made with an overhanging moulding. There are collapses on the railings and spills on the walls from place to place. The floor of the unused bridge is asphalted and the stone pavement is still visible.
